Opening Night Recap: THE PASSION OF THE OAKLEY
Last Thursday night, we held a private opening at our Greenpoint storefront for Lucas Oakley’s latest art exhibition: THE PASSION OF THE OAKLEY. Thank you to everyone who was in attendance and to the amazing team who worked to put this celebration together. Special shoutout to Jordan Barnett for his incredible lighting design that elevated our opening night festivities and to DJ Bbboongaboonga for keeping the beats going all night long.
We are incredibly excited to host Lucas’ work at 85 West Street from now until July 18th. This work celebrates the artist’s queer identity in the face of growing up in the Catholic Church, making it the perfect pop-up for Pride Month. In addition to Lucas’s cut-collage pop-art pieces, bedazzled CATHOLIC t-shirts, and collaborative Fine Art photo series with photographer Shane Reynolds, the exhibition features a collection of curated-to-theme jewelry by Zoey Schorsch, one-of-a-kind rosaries and cross necklaces by Grace Smith, behind-the-scenes photos by photographer Talia Smith and additional framed images from Shane Reynold’s eclectic archive. Stop by to shop the current collection and see the work for yourself!
