Half a Year in Review
We’re more than 6 months into the year and insanely proud to share a glimpse into what’s been going on at 85 West Street. First, we’d like to thank everyone who has been a part of our storefront journey so far. From exhibition opening nights, to fun pop-ups with local artists, to live musical performances, and even a comedy show, safe to say we’ve been pretty busy this Spring/Summer season. Here’s a look into how our space has changed over the course of 2025.

Our first iteration of the storefront featured a colleciton of artists near and dear to Zoey and Talia — the Director and Assistant Director of ZDS Creative — all displaying their work in a sotrefront for the very first time. The first two months of our opening, the store housed a vibrant collection of multimedia sculptures, collage and jewelery by Zoey Schorsch, collage, fine art photo prints on fabric and textured paper by Talia Smith, paintings and fine art photos by Grace Mitzen, scultpures, dolls, paintings, block prints, screen prints and jewelry by Shelley Schorsch, and rosaries, custom bracelets and ornate jewelry by Grace Smith.

The second iteration of the store featured all the above work (with a bit of a mix-up from our first go—featuring new and curated work by each artist previously displayed) alongside ecclectic mobiles made with natural materials by Ian Scott, and decorative hand-made clay lighting fixtures by Allison Dowd (which she very accurately coined as ‘jewelry for your home.’) We had an amazing opening night reception for our new featured artists, and continued to sell work by a creatively driven group of emerging artists. This second iteration of the store not only helped us to expand our creative network, but also lead us into working with more artists outside of our immediate network at ZDS Creative.

The current space houses a multimedia show by local pop artist Lucas Oakley, who bedazzled his Catholic School uniform — and in turn created a very raunchy, very timely exhibition centered around growing up queer in the Catholic church (Happy Pride month, y’all!) We currently house fine art photos by photographer Shayne Reynolds, behind-the-scenes photo prints by Talia Smith, jewelry and rosaries by Grace Smith and a specially curated selection of jewelry accurate to this month’s show by Zoey Schorsch. Lucas’s work features a collection of cut paper collages, bedazzled CATHOLIC tees, many fine art photo prints, and a whole lot of love <3
Thank you again to everyone who has been a part of what we’ve built this year. We can’t wait to keep celebrating with you, to continue showcasing amazing work by emerging artists, and to deepen our connection to the lovely network of creators and art lovers who so often frequent our events. We love you all more than you know!!!!
Next show announcement coming so soon… keep your eyes and ears open!! xoxox
